The Red Room
Red Room is a one of the old favorites. Located at 510 Glenwood Ave; nice, laid-back atmosphere; a bit pricey for a college student. It used to be a lot better, but still a good choice.

Humble Pie
Located at the 317 S. Harrington St., downtown Raleigh. This is a wonderful, spaceous place with an outside patio, tall ceilings and lots of artwork. They have a large selection of wines and cocktails, but their food menu is for the more adventurous types :-). This is probably one of the best places in Raleigh to go get a drink at.

Hibernian
Hibernian is an Irish pub, located at the 311 Glenwood Ave. It's wood-paneled interior and the dimmed lights, give it a special sort of charm. In addition to that, the decor is somewhat of an unusual collection of eclectic items from around the globe and can be a never-ending conversation piece. Wide selection of beers, a bit pricey, and crowded at times, but seems to be spacious enough, which is a plus.

Helios Cafe
Helios Cafe is a coffee house that also serves wine and beer. It has a spatious patio and usually there is always live music, or DJs spinning electronic music. The patio is the place to sit. You are on the busiest street of the downtown and yet you don't even feel it. It's a nice place to relax at in midweek and just chat with your friends. Located at 413 Glenwood.

The George
Probably one of the most sophisticated-looking places in Raleigh (read: a place where you might want to take a date to impress her/him). George has been recently renovated and has expanded its offering. It is located at 414 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 101.

Amra's Jazz Club
Amras is reshaping the face of the downtown. A destination with the charm and sophistication of a 1930s jazz bar and the understated elegance that is sure to draw those that are looking for a lounge that can deliver both comfort and class. Good music, good drinks. Located at 106 Glenwood.

Zydeco Jazz Club
A much-needed breath of fresh air in the Raleigh night-life scene. Go here to unwind in one of the couches or at the bar, while listening to incredible jazz and R&B musicians. This is a grown man's party. Older and younger crowds mingling and having a great time. Located at the City Market, 208 Wolfe St.

Rockford's
Most well kept secret in Raleigh. Unless you know it is there, you will not find the entrance to this wonderful bar. Located at 320 1/2 Glenwood Ave, the staircase will take you up to a new level of socializing :-). Great atmosphere, especially, if you want to get away from the everyday noise of Glenwood party scene. Laid back, unpretentious and serving fabulous food, as well.

Riviera
This is one of the best restaurants in Raleigh. The food is fabulous and worth the money you spend on it. Riviera also has a spatious upstairs club/lounge, where there is usually good music played. Check this place out, you won't be sorry. Located at 135 S. Wilmington St.

Escazu Chocolates
Probably the most delicious place on Glenwood. Escazu serves some of the best handcrafted chocolates in the United States. The flavors are very inventive and unique. If you try it once, you'll be back again. Located at 610 Glenwood Avenue.
